Our Wish List

This is a list of items that would support the programs and activities at BFA.

Two 15 passenger vans

BFA students are often in the community performing service, participating in athletic programming, or attending college tours. Transportation has been a barrier for students to participate in several activities critical to their social and academic growth. Contribution of a 15 passenger van would go a long way to supporting student success and school spirit!

New Books

BFA seeks to create classroom libraries in our four English classrooms, our reading classroom and our student lounge. We seek reading materials that are both age and content appropriate for young people aged 14 - 18. Please contact us if you have questions about whether a book or other reading materials are appropriate for our students.

College Care Packages

We anticipate many BFA students being accepted into two and four year institutions where they will choose to live on campus. In the fall of 2006 we will begin collecting “college care packages” that include:

  • bathroom caddy
  • set of towels
  • bedding set (sheets, pillow case, comforter)
  • soap dish
  • toothbrush holder
  • study lamp
  • alarm clock
  • throw rug

These items will go a long way to support students who seek success in their college careers!

Sofas for reading rooms/corners

New or gently used sofas are welcomed for student reading areas. Reading and writing in all content areas is a critical part of our college preparatory curriculum. We hope to create places in our school where students are able to feel comfortable doing assignments, working together and observing quiet time.

Texas Instruments 84 and higher graphing calculators

All high school students require graphing calculators to be successful in high school. Your contribution of a TI-84 or higher graphing calculator will support student achievement and may be used on standardized tests.

Three Digital Cameras

Our yearbook and newspaper staffs seek digital cameras to be used to obtain high quality photos in our student publications.
