Parent Involvement at BFA

Parent and family involvement at BFA are a major part of our school's success. We believe that without the support and guidance of our family community, our students will not be able to achieve at high levels. Parents are involved in many leadership roles at the school ranging from volunteering in our main office to serving as members of the Board of Directors for the BFA Foundation, Inc. Our policy is that parents and guardians have an open door to the school. They are welcomed to sit in on classes or volunteer without making an appointment. Since we’ve opened, each year parents have hosted our annual holiday party, the year-end cookout, breakfasts for students prior to all high stakes testing, and volunteered over 3,000 hours to help support administrative activities at the school. Ways parents and families can get involved:

Parent Volunteer Days

Our volunteer committee encourages parents and guardians to schedule at least one day during the school year where they volunteer their time. Volunteer activities may range in activities that include hall monitoring, in-class teacher aid, administrative support, cafeteria support etc.

Grade Representatives

Each grade has a liaison whose primary role is to work with the Volunteer Committee of the BFA Foundation and BFA staff to maintain open lines of communication between BFA administration and the parents. This person also assists in coordinating grade wide events and activities in conjunction with the BFA Student Government Association.

Take Home Administrative Support
