Student Schedules Mailed
All students should receive their schedule in the mail no later than Friday, August 27, 2010. We look forward to seeing everyone in the new year.
August 30, 2010 - BACK TO SCHOOL!
Welcome Back! The first day of school for all BFA students grades 6 - 12 will be Monday, August 30th. All students will be required to use their student ID to Swipe into school beginning Tuesday, September 7, 2010. We look forward to seeing you all.
Student Led Conferences
Spring Student Led Conferences will take place Monday, June 14th - Wednesday, June 16th. Parent/Guardian or mentor must attend for each student. Community representatives are invited to attend these celebratory meetings. Please call 443-642-2158 for more information.

BFA - A Top U.S. High School
Baltimore Freedom Academy has received Bronze recognition as one of the best high schools in the United States from U.S. News & World Reports! Over 45 students, families, faculty and board members accepted recognition at a recent school board meeting. We are excited to be acknowledged for the great work and growth we continue to have on behalf of the young people of Baltimore City. 100% of the Class of 2008 Admitted to College!
100% of Baltimore Freedom Academy scholars admitted to at least one college or university. Over 70% of our family was admitted to multiple schools and are looking forward to continuing their lifelong learning process. On Sunday, June 1st we will honor the class of 2008 and all of their accomplishments at our second annual graduation ceremony. Keynote Speaker Kweisi Mfume will lead the charge of our graduating class who have the “Freedom to Lead and Daring to Succeed!”
BFA Approved to Become a 6 - 12 Secondary School!
The Baltimore Freedom Academy was approved by the BCPSS Board of School Commissioners to transition from a 9 -12 high school to a 6 - 12 secondary school at it’s March 11, 2008 school board meeting. The BFA Foundation, Inc. is excited to partner with CEO, Dr. Andres Alonso in his effort to provide quality choice options for students in middle grades by expanding our operation to a middle school division. We are presently seeking qualified candidates to lead the middle grades program and to join the faculty and staff (see positions on our STAFF page under the ‘employment’ link).

FREEDOM FIGHTERS WIN 2nd ANNUAL BIAC TOURNAMENT!!!
The BFA Freedom Fighters boys team wins the 2nd annual Baltimore Innovative Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday, March 1, 2008! Despite much fanfare from the opposing team who brought a capacity crowd and cheerleaders, the young men of the Freedom Fighters were able to edge out a victory of 69-64 over Coppin Academy High School. Congratulations to our team, our coaches and Kevin Smith #22 for winning MVP status!!!

BFA admits 100 students per year and offers a random lottery if there are more than 100 applicants through the Baltimore CIty Public School System.
